Ah well, back to Earth ! The girls went well ( Fern adding her own take on the showing thing as usual, trying to keep an eye on a Wren which was joining in the proceedings). Lovely day with good friends at this annual event which always has a great Xmas atmosphere. Thanks to judge, breed specialist , Eileen Sequi ( Arranbourne).

Well , what an amazing weekend at the annual Welsh Top Dog /Puppy Competition! This incredibly well run event always attracts some super dogs and sporting exhibitors so is a very special moment when title of Top Puppy comes your way.
Ever the Diva we believe Fern was spotted winking at the photographer as she finished one of her "parades" She has no shame!
Mum , Jinny, was also not disgraced as she finished runner up in the first Group to a lovely Champion Samoyed ( also from North Wales) so we kept the Northern flag flying high.
Our heartfelt thanks go to our Judges , top all rounders Jill Peak ( Peakfields) for the group competitions and to Robin Searle (Surlson) for the agreement to award Fern Top Puppy. A weekend we will not forget made extra special as Fern is the G.G. Grandaughter of Lass who won the first Welsh Contest of Champions event that we had attended back in 1998.
A memorable weekend spent in great company, with good food and maybe a little celebratory drink!
Looks impressive but they were unchallenged in their respective classes! However, they did go well and Fern eventually managed to cover herself in some sort of glory. Many thanks to all rounder Judge : Mr. Nick Connell (Sonorra).

Haven't been out for a while so really pleased with the results today. Especially proud of Sarah and Harry who went so well in a very good class. Many thanks to our judge , breed specialist Mr. Haydn Platts ( Camberwick).
Really hot at the show today which was held in an indoor riding school but surrounded by nice people and lovely dogs. Harry and Sarah are beginning to form a good partnership and Fern gained the final point for her Sh CM. Badger started well and then ground to a halt in the Group! Ah well , can't have it all!
Thanks to Pastoral judge Margaret Shipp (Tremaro),Pastoral Group judge Lynsey Pemberton ( Lynbank) and Terrier judge George Clarke ( Reulemill).
Dave rang today to let us know Casey had been successful under Breed Specialist Mrs. Sarah Ritchie ( Cheryshd) and Group Judge Mrs. Frances Richards ( Elemark). Thanks to all concerned.
After entering 4 dogs we ended up taking 1 as Jinny and Fern were in season and Badger was in no mood for showing after a week concentrating on "other things"! So, it was a more relaxing day and Flash went well to take 2nd to the eventual RCC winner . Thank you to top all rounder Mr. Frank Kane (Hirontower).

The Summer sun shone all day to make Bakewell a beautiful venue for a dog and agricultural show. After the judging we had time to wander round and have a look at the horses and the cattle. The drive to the show was a bit further than we had anticipated (!) however it was worth it for the scenery. The Peak District is stunning.
Delighted with the results as the entry was a quality one. Thank you to judge Lucy Mottram ( Mybeards) for a lovely day.
Had a lovely day at one of our favourite shows . Unfortunately the rain kept us inside but we had spacious rings and plenty of room to spread out and celebrate Jinny's title. Thanks to all who joined us for a drink and a few nibbles.
Hettie wasn't happy with the venue so we were delighted that she was pulled out in a huge PG
class for a second look. Thanks to Sue Carter ( Woodacre) and Marion Appleby ( Diotima) for their awards today and congratulations to the Sammara kennel who took BIS and RBIS with mother and son. What an achievement!.

Harewood Hall is always a beautiful venue but when the sun is shining , you're surrounded by friends and their lovely dogs and you win that 3rd magical CC what better place to be!
We were so proud of all of our dogs and thank their owners for taking the time and trouble to show them so well.
Huge thank also you to the judge , breed specialist Mrs. Gill Yeates ( Odderwood) for a day to always remember.
This win was made even more special as Jinny is our 5th Champion and 1st homebred bitch. Our 1st Ch. bitch was her great grandmother, Lass ( Ch. Osmart Lizzie's Country Lass with Kilfinan) who was by Shep ( Ch. Kilfinan Countryman) but the other 3 were all dogs.
What a lovely day we had at Ruthin Open Show . The weather was just right and there was a garden party atmosphere . Fern , Hettie and Badger all went well and were rewarded in their respective classes. Our thanks go to Mark Williams (Kelmbri) who judged the breed and Cath Parker ( Osmart) who judged Terriers and the Groups.

Fern absolutely delighted us today . Following her success last week she went one better and took BIS at this very friendly outdoor show on the outskirts of Ruthin . Badger also went well and was pulled out for a second look for BIS.
Many thanks to judges Carol Marsden ( Blacktors/Avanti) for Fern's BOB and to Gavin Robertson ( Soletrader) for her BIS . Thanks also to Mark Cocozza ( Freecloud) for Badger's award.
Great day with lovely friends.
Despite the wind and flapping tents Harry, Jinny, Fern and Casey coped extremely well and were were highly placed in their respective classes. We had a very enjoyable day amongst good company and thanks go to Breed specialist Mr. Les Griffiths ( Silene) for his awards.

A lovely rare sunny day at Malvern Showground and Shona and Casey delighted us with their winning ways. Flash and Jinny did their best but couldn't match them! Thanks to all rounder Mr. Vic Salt ( Woodlyn) and Mrs. Smillie for Shona's Stakes place.
Delighted to hear that Shona had been succesful at this show and our thanks go to Mrs. D. Beech ( Dychix), a breed specialist , and also to Frances Richards for taking such good care of Shona.

Spent an enjoyable day at the well run Bearded Collie Club Open Show in the Midlands in the company of some good friends. Even won a couple of prizes on the raffle! All of our dogs went well ( including Fern!) and were placed in their respective classes. Thanks to specialist Mrs. Wendy Rawson ( Deedledee).
A good day for catching up with old friends from here and abroad. The boys went went and we would like to thank breed specialist Dr. M. Buckley (Holtend) for their awards.
The day was not without sadness as we returned home to find Patrick ( Kilfinan Blue Moon) had collapsed and did not recover. We are heartbroken to have lost this lovely boy at 10 years old , far too young.
(In body if not in mind!!!)

Lovely day out as ever at this very well run annual event. North Wales was well represented and Fern managed to contain herself to be rewarded with a place in the Semi Final of our Group which was good going as the standard of exhibits was extremely high as usual.
Many thanks to our judge , top all rounder Mr. Bob Gregory ( Spotarton).

A very happy Philippa rang today with the news that Gypsy had gained her title today under judge Mr. Tom Alexander . Many thanks to the judge and to Philippa and David Smedley for taking such good care of her. Not only does Gypsy have her title she also has a Rally Obedience title proving she does have a brain ! Her 2 brothers and sister over here have a lot to live up to!
Dave and Casey had a good day at Matlock under judges Mr. I. Sheldon ( Oozzoo) in breed and Mr. J. Yates ( Dalewood) in the Group. Many thanks to them for appreciating our little lad. Dave also took BOB and G2 with his older boy Elemark Briar so well done all round!
Spent an enjoyable day with friends at this well run Breed Club Show. Fern has forgotten all she learnt previously as she has been "grounded" for weeks as she has been in season. However she enjoyed her trip round the ring, her grin was bigger than a Cheshire Cheese!
Thanks to Breed Specialist Shane Flint ( Sandytrail) for the awards .

Fern behaved herself impeccably and came away with two 2nd's. We were particularly pleased with her performance in the Stakes class as she had some very stiff competition. Thanks to all rounders Steve Hall( Shenedene) for breed and Derek Smith ( Clickam ) for Stakes places.
