The Ch Show was held back to back with Birmingham which made for a very long day but we were so pleased with all of them. Our judge was all rounder Jill Peak ( Bayard).
Tony had to go alone as our dogsitter wasn't well so he left Shadow behind and only took Clover and Rhona. Apparently they both went well. Beardie judge was Mark James (Waterley) and for Skyes Francis Carlton.
Judge: Mrs. E Ayrton (Aoibh). Jane (owner) tells me she put him in the wrong class but he went well enough to take this place in a class of 8.
Delighted with Shadow today, he went really well and was rewarded with the class by all rounder judge Robin Newhouse (Annecy). Also delighted with Isla as it was her first time out for nearly 2 years and with Rhona who behaved herself for both myself and Tony! Thanks to our judge, breed specialist Simon Whincup(Partisky) for thinking so hghly of them.
Shadow performed better this time and came away with a creditable 3rd under breed specialist judge Kay Farrier (Kayanarra). Clover was in season so stayed at home.
Our first Ch. Show for 19 months and fortunately it was a lovely day with a light breeze, we were all under a marquee but there was plenty of space and the atmosphere was friendly . It was good to see friends again! Lucas did well and went so well;Shadow was a little unsettled but not the judges choice today as he was 4th of 4 and Clover couldn't have gone any better but she too wasn't what the judge was looking for.Couldn't have asked more of them . The judge was breed specialist Rob Ballantyne ( Bustroc).
18.7.21: Oswestry Open Show:
Kilfinan Ladybird JW: 1st AVNSC Pastoral,Best AVNSC Pastoral and G1.
Well after a break from the Showring for 19 months due to Covid we finally managed to get to Oswestry Open Show with Clover, Rhona and Isla. It was incredibly hot but we did manage to find some shade and the morning was bearable enough for us to stay. However the afternoon became unbearable so we decided to call it a day and apologise to our judge Sharon Bowen (Lararth and go home before we melted! Rhona (Kilfinan Nightingale) did get in the ring but it was on a hill and bumpy and she decided there were too many enticing smells to try to negotiate the terrain! Consequently she was 5th of 5! Good day and we were able to catch up with a few friends.
Jane sent news of the Open show and said Lucas went well, the judge was Vonnie Newton.
Lucas again went well and gained a VHC in PG under Sue Bird (Bridus).
We didn't get to the Ch. Show but Jane and Scott Peart and Lucas did and did us proud under breed specialist Judge Glenda O'Connell (Atherleigh).
So pleased with our Skyes today particularly Isla who hasn't been anywhere for well over 2 years. Our judge was Monica Barraclough (Wemoway) who is a breed specialist.
